Each Visual Communication High School student at the Careerline Tech Center in Holland, Michigan used color prisma pencil on black illustration board to illustrate a letter and tell its story. Coloring on black board is challenging. Normally artists draw on a light base and add dark for shadow. Here the students start with a solid black base and build their art incorporating the already dark value. It is like drawing backwards!
